Message on behalf of Samina Sami, Executive Director, Community Safety

On Monday, October 23, 2017, the Community Safety Department responded to a report of hate based graffiti containing threatening messaging. This was found in a washroom at York Hall, Glendon College. Upon receipt of this report, the Community Safety Department responded immediately and a focused evacuation order was issued. An investigation was commenced and an all clear was issued by Toronto Police Service a short time later. We will be working with the Toronto Police Service in their ongoing investigation into this criminal matter. Expressions of hate are taken very seriously and will not be tolerated. Community members are asked to immediately contact the Community Safety Department at any time that they become aware of graffiti, threatening messages or any other types of occurrences that condone or promote hate on campus.
