Message on behalf of Samina Sami, Executive Director, Community Safety

The Community Safety Department received a report today that on March 7, 2017 graffiti containing an anti-Black threatening message was found on a washroom wall at York Hall, Glendon College. Upon receipt of this report, the Community Safety Department responded immediately. Visible security patrols have been increased in the area and we will be working with the Toronto Police Service in their investigation. Expressions of hate and anti-Black racism are taken very seriously and will not be tolerated. Staff are reaching out to Black student organizations and others to offer support.

Community members are asked to immediately contact the Community Safety Department at any time that they become aware of graffiti or any other types of occurrences that condone or promote hate on campus.

Anyone who may have information about this occurrence is asked to contact the Community Safety Department at 416-650-8000 extension 58000 or contact Toronto Police Service.
